Raw Foods: Not just good for you, GREAT for you!

When people think of raw foods, they often think of Brussels sprouts and parsnips. They think of uncooked hamburger or chicken. To a lot of people the word “raw” and “food” should rarely go together. “Raw foods” are either unhealthy or are the stuff of extreme health nuts who subsist on tasteless, boring food. Boy, are they WRONG!

What does “raw foods” mean, anyway?

What if I told you that raw foods are not only good for you, but can be great tasting as well? What about delicious raw foods like strawberries, blueberries, bananas and other fruits? How about the raw cacao powder that we use to make our Mayan Chocolate Smoothie? Or the fresh, ripe raw avocado in our Avo Bowl (which just so happens to be entirely vegan as well)?

Eating a diet rich in raw foods can provide you with more nutrients without added chemicals, preservatives or additives. Raw foods are often tastier because a lot of the flavor may be lost during the cooking process. Overall, eating a raw food diet with lots of fruits and vegetables is a start to a much healthier you.
