Health Benefits

Coconut Water

Coconut water is isotonic and contains essential minerals which make it more effective at electrolyte replacement than most sports drinks.  In fact, it is so similar to the body’s plasma that it was used intravenously during World War II in the absence of medical saline.  One cup of coconut water has more postassium than a banana, and is used as the main ingredient in all of our smoothies.  We extract the juice fresh everyday from young Thai coconuts, making them naturally sweet and delicious.

Acai

This protein-rich superfood from the Amazon contains large quantities of anti-oxidants known as polyphenols and anthocyanins.  Acai is picked in the wild, helping to preserve the forest and supporting harvesting families, which makes the forest more profitable standing, rather than cut down.  We use Sambazon Acai puree when we make our popular Tripleberry smoothie, which also contains no added sugar.

Goji

Used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years, goji berries contain a carotenoid called zeaxanthin which boosts immune function, protects the retina and liver, and promotes longevity and beauty.  Organic Oasis uses a raw goji powder in its Tripleberry and Red Velvet smoothies, ensuring the integrity of the enzyme content as well as making it easy to consume.

Cacao

Known to ancient cultures as the Food of the Gods, cacao contains high levels of antioxidants called flavonoids.  Cacao also contains phenylethylamine (PEA), which produces feelings of love and happiness as a result of serotonin production.   Cacao is also known to reduce blood pressure and lower LDL cholesterol.  We use only certified raw cacao powder in our Mayan Chocolate, Peanut Butter Cup and Red Velvet smoothies.

Maca

Similar to ginseng, maca is a root grown in the high altitudes of the Andes mountains in Peru.  Delivering high levels of glucosinolates, maca is traditionally known to support hormone balance, increase libido and energy. One of the key ingredients of our Mayan Chocolate and Peanut Butter Cup smoothies, the maca we use is certified raw, which ensures the phytochemicals remain undamaged and making it such a powerful  food.
